We hope that all of you had a good Thanksgiving holiday, with time to get outside for a long draft of natural beauty. We’re grateful to you for caring so much about Rio Vista Natural Resource Park, and we give special thanks to those who’ve participated in the master-planning process.
Tom Fisher, Tucson Parks and Recreation’s project manager for the master plan, kindly sent the revised master plan for the park to share with you. The PDF is attached here (PDF, 15 MB). As we noted in a previous alert, the dog enclosure proposed in the draft has been removed from the revised plan.
Tom wrote that the plan will be on the agenda of the Tucson Parks and Recreation Commission’s December meeting. If approved by the commissioners, it will then go to Mayor and Council for review.
Once again, thanks to Tucson Parks and Recreation staff for listening to the concerns of the community and to the RillitoBend Neighborhood Association; Tucson Parks and Recreation Commissioners Robin McArdle, Manon Getsi, and Steve Poe; and Ward 3 Councilmember Kevin Dahl and Council Aide CJ Boyd for their support. Friends of Rio Vista looks forward to working with all stakeholders in fine-tuning the master plan on the ground.
Thank you for being part of the Rio Vista community!
