Here’s the announcement from Sierra Boyer, public information officer for Tucson Parks:

Tucson Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to come learn about the draft Master Plan and recommendations for Rio Vista Natural Resource Park on Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the park (3974 N. Tucson Blvd.). Join us and provide your feedback to City staff.

The exact location isn’t noted, but it will be on the west side of the park near the main entrance and should be easy to find.

Tucson Parks staff and consultants from SmithGroup will present the first draft of the master plan. We’ve attached the map of existing conditions from the draft and Friends of Rio Vista’s position statement on the master plan. Many thanks to everyone who e-mailed support for the position statement in April!

This is an important opportunity to let Tucson Parks know your support for keeping Rio Vista natural. Please put September 7 on your calendar and join us at the public meeting. Thank you for being part of the Rio Vista community!
