Rio Vista Master Plan: Existing Conditions, from Tucson Parks and Recreation

We were glad to see so many of you at the first public meeting for the Rio Vista Natural Resource Park master plan last Wednesday. We’re encouraged that so many people support the protection and enhancement of the park’s natural area and that Tucson Parks and Recreation is taking that support so seriously.

For those of you who missed the meeting or who didn’t have a chance to look closely at the map of existing conditions and the photo boards that were presented, Tom Fisher, the master plan’s project manager at Tucson Parks and Recreation, kindly sent a PDF for us to share with you.

Please note that the map is the assessment of current conditions in the park, not a proposed master plan. And please check out the definition of a natural resource park between the site plan and the map of the entry area.

Tom wrote that he and his colleagues at Tucson Parks and at SmithGroup (consultants) will be talking to stakeholders over the next few weeks and are planning another open house in June, when they’ll present a draft master plan for Rio Vista.
